ISIS - Istituto di Studi per l'Integrazione dei Sistemi is an Italian private research and consultancy firm supporting public and private policy makers in the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of energy, transport and environmental policies and decisions. It was established in 1971, and has since been developing and applying decision support methods and tools, and providing services to international organisations (European Commission, European Investment Bank, World Bank and Food and Agriculture Organisation), national and local public authorities and to the industry. With a full time staff of 20 professionals, ISIS is a major player in the EU energy research arena, having coordinated several important projects and participated to many others in FP4, FP5, FP6, FP7 and IEE programmes. ISIS has developed considerable project management experience through the coordination of major EC funded projects, such as RECORDIT (real costs of intermodal freight transport), TRANSPLUS (integration of transport and land use policies), BEACON (building environmental assessment consensus on the Trans-European transport network), NEEDS (Integrated Project on the assessment of the externalities of the energy production cycle), RAISE (Citizens participation to decision making), SPICYCLES (promotion of cycling policies in six European cities), TRESHOLDS (development of target-setting procedures to formulate sustainable policies), and CIVITAS CATALIST (ensuring that the experiences of the CIVITAS Initiative are exploited, disseminated and transferred at maximum level), and COMPRO (common procurement of clean vehicles at European scale). ISIS has also extended its range of activities to the areas of quality of services and the production of specialised software for the purposes of quality control of public services.
ISIS is equipped with information resources in line with the most up-to-date, modern technologies, and has always demonstrated proactive support of interactive and user-friendly software tools. |
